Regenerative Design 26: 1st-30th October
1 October 2026

UK Architects Declare is co-curating with Architecture Today this unique, month-long programme of regenerative design events at London's Building Centre, inspired by the success of our Regenerative Architecture Index. Now in its third year, AD and Architecture Today's RAI - in partnership with Schüco - received 119 entries this year, and we will be revealing the 2026 front runners at the annual celebration event that launches the RD26 programme on 1st October.

As well as a full programme of over a dozen talks, workshops, discussions and exhibitions, the programme features 3 key events from AD:

  • 7th October: The launch of the 2nd edition of our successful Regenerative Design Primer, with new guidance and examples, designed to outline practical steps, foster a common language and instil confidence in embracing regenerative principles.
  • 28th October: The People's Emergency Briefing - a screening of the 50-minute public information film led by naturalist Chris Packham, presenting evidence on the UK’s climate and nature crisis, with panel discussion and Q&A.
  • 29th October: Designing for 2050: who is responsible? To end the RD26 programme, AD's Next-Gen Ambassadors host a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing students and early-career professionals, and share insights, ideas and strategies to promote regenerative design.

The 4-week programme is designed around themes that will be familiar to all who have engaged with the Regenerative Architecture Index and AD's mission:

  1. The Regenerative Benchmark & Systemic Change
  2. Being a Good Ancestor
  3. Co-evolving with Nature
  4. Creating a Just Space for People

The programme also features 3 free exhibitions:

  • Case studies from the 2026 Regenerative Architecture Index itself;
  • The popular Reinventing Practice series of RAI practice portraits.
  • Special live screening with real-size, real-time live webcam footage of the bear enclosure at the the Isle of Wight's Wildheart Animal Sanctuary. Wildheart's commission for a new International School of Rewilding and Regenerative Agriculture featured in our first RAI results in 2024.
